The Building Reference Files collection consists of a mix of primary and secondary source material relating to the buildings and campuses of the Illinois Institute of Technology and its predecessor institutions. Description of the Collection
Aerial photographs of IIT's main campus on South State Street and surrounding neighborhoods. Some photos include the Chicago Loop skyline or Lake Michigan horizon. Photos are in print (generally 8" x 10") format for earlier years and 35mm contact sheets (ca. 24 to 36 images per 8" x 10" sheet), slides, and some photocopies for later years. Glass slides apparently used in two early presentations about IIT. Slides were found in a drawer with two empty slide boxes labeled as follows: 1) Complete set used for UET presentation; 2) Used 6-4-40 Alumni Banquet.
