Description of the Collection

Miscellaneous materials found in IIT Archives. Their original creator/compiler is unknown and the materials may not all be from the same source. Some may be from the offices of Preseidents Heald and Rettaliata. Others materials appear to have come from the university's public relations office. Some folder titles were found on the folders and others were supplied or supplemented by the processor.

Materials related to the National Register of Historic Places nomination for the Illinois Institute of Technology Academic Campus which was listed on the Register Aug. 12, 2005. Includes the research documentation complied by Mark Kasprzyk and Douglas Gilbert of McClier (work contracted by IIT) and submitted to the Commission of Chicago Landmarks with approval from the Illinois State Historic Preservation Officer.

This collection includes drawings, plans, blueprints, and other materials stored in the East Map Case. These materials are not all from the same source, nor are they a coherent collection by any factor other than that they are all stored together. Description of the Collection

127 boxes of photographs of Illinois Institute of Technology campus, events, and people. Most photos are presumed to be taken by Communication and Marketing Office for various campus publications. Subjects and photographers are sometimes identified. The photos are in various formats: prints, negatives, and contact sheets, and some slides and transparencies. Most images are in black and white and most date from 1980 and before.

Description of the Collection This collection consists of oversize presentation boards with images (concept designs, architects' drawings, blueprints) of various physical and architectural development projects on the campus of Illinois Institute of Technology and surrounding Bronzeville area redevelopment executed as part of the university's long-range plans begun ca. 1998.
