David Anderson papers, 1959-1976
Collection represents the majority of work created by David Anderson while a student at the Institute of Design, circa 1959-1963. A small amount of the material, primarily series 2 and series 53, represent professional work and work by other designers.
House of the Future collection, 1983
Set of six posters (white printed in black; 33¼ x 23½") detailing the House of the Future design submitted by Institute of Design students to the Japan Design Foundation's First International Design Competition in 1983. The ID team design won the Grand Prize. Project was supervised by ID faculty member Charles L. Owen.
Institute of Design class projects, 1954-1959
Twelve books, each being a hand-made volume by an Institute of Design student. Books were made as class projects for Visual Design classes, probably in connection with either typography or book design assignments. All titles include original artwork; some also include original text. Books were apparently done in short runs of 200 or less.
Institute of Design faculty/student work and syllabi, 1992-2009
Records from the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology, from the period when Patrick Whitney was Dean. The collection consists almost entirely of student work--almost all of which (in turn) is from course ID 592, Research and Documentation Projects. The remainder of the collection consists of syllabi for ID courses amd miscellaneous administrative files.
