Global Financial Markets began as a quarterly publication of CCH Incorporated of 4025 W. Peterson Avenue of Chicago and the Center for Law & Financial Markets of the Illinois Institute of Technology, with the latter providing editorial content. In the periodical's issue for the fall of 2003 it announced that it "endeavors to serve as the mouthpiece of the IIT Stuart Center for Financial Markets."
