Biography

Founded in 1948, Momentum was a group of artists from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Institute of Design, and Northwestern University whose activies centered on the exhibition of work by undergraduate and other young Chicago artists.

Description of the Collection

Momentum nineteen-fifty, "a portfolio of reproductions of creative work originating in the Chicago area." Published in Chicago, 1950, by Momentum, an art movement. Portfolio consists of 5 leaves of introductory information and 20 leaves of plates with 121 black & white illustrations of two- and three-dimensional works by 115 artists. Portfolio was designed by Robert Nickle.
