Siegel, Arthur S.
Biography
Arthur Siegel (1913-1978) attended the New Bauhaus on scholarship from 1937-1938. Siegel was a photographer for the Farm Security Administration (1937-1942), Office of War Information (1942-1944), and the U.S. Army Air Corps (1944-1946). From 1946-1949 Seigel was the Head of Photography at the Institute of Design, and Professor of Photography from 1949-1954, 1965-1978 and department Chair from 1971-1978. Siegel's areas of specialization include 35 mm color photography, photojournalism, and Chicago architectural photography.
