Carr Memorial Chapel, 1952-2013

 File — Box: 1

Descriptions of Carr Memorial Chapel (also known for some time as St. Savior's Chapel, Episcopal), clipped from various IIT publications. It also includes 8 black & white photographic negatives and prints by Jay Wolke, who as of 2014 was a Professor of Fine Art at Columbia College in Chicago. The eight separate images include two different interior shots, two different shots of the entrance (from outside), three exterior shots from a distance, and one interior shot of a section of upper wall. These images are doubled up on print sheets, with two sets present, for eight sheets total.

The Jay Wolke photographs (accession 2013.022) were forwarded to the IIT Archives by Aric Ahrens of the Galvin Library staff, who indicated that they had arrived as part of a book donation that was received without any kind of attribution. A cover sheet with the photographs, however, does bear Wolke's phone number, which strongly supports best practice that the photographer be contacted in association with any plans to duplicate the images for publication.
