Scope and Contents
Photos and brochures documenting IIT landscape planning and implementation. 1) A color photo of an April 1980 campus landscape plan, submitted by the firm of Schmidt, Garden & Erikson; its notable feature is the closure of State Street between 31st and 34th streets; 2) A ca. 1980 map taken from an IIT handbook, showing the first appearance of Morton Park on a campus map; 3) A ca. 1994 photograph looking south towards Crown Hall, showing the ground at street-level (before the landscaping undertaken by Peter Lindsay Schaudt); 4) A brochure with one color photo and four maps of campus, documenting Peter Lindsay Schaudt's alterations to the campus that resulted in his winning the 2005 National Honor Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects.
