Arcade Building/Binga Bank, 1940-1969

This folder contains photocopied images (with some descriptions in captions) of the Arcade Building (NW corner of 35th and State) and the adjacent Binga Bank Building (3452. S. State). Both buildings were built in the 1920s and were central to the then-thriving Black commercial district along that portion of State. Around 1952 IIT purchased both buildings, which were then occupied for a decade my offices associated with the Armour Research Foundation. Both were torn down in 1965.
