Biographical / Historical

Institute of Design awarded its first Masters of Science degrees in photography in 1952. The photography portfolios in this series date from 1959 (Ray Metzker) to 2001 (Bray Ficken, Andy Kropa, and Jessica Rowe) when the last students in photography graduated. Some especially significant or unconventional portfolios are by Metzker (Box 136), Eileen Cowin (Box 75), Dale Quarterman (Box 146), Art Sinsabaugh (Box 157), Barbara Crane (Box 76), Joe Jachna (Box 105), Joe Sterling (Box 164), Ken Joseph (Box 109), Linda Connors (Box 72), and Barbara Blondeau (Box 59). Some portfolios include slides, a paper document, or an audio component along with the prints. This subseries is arranged alphabetically by the student’s last name.
