Two documents relating to the World War II Naval career of Martin Perry Anderson, including: Certificate of appointment of Anderson to the rank of Lieutenant (Junior Grade) in the Naval Reserve of the United States, March 13, 1943. Signed by Frank Knox, Secretary of the Navy. A "Report of Duty" document for Lieut. Anderson, dated January 15, 1944, from the Navy V-12 Unit, Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago), detailing the percentages of time (with descriptions of responsibilities) he was to devote to organizational issues, discipline, police and inspection, welfare and recreation, personnel duty, and watch duty (2 pp.).
