Photographed by eleven students on the morning of Wednesday, April 16, 1952." Shooting took place between 4 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. Film credits are as follows: Sound: Jack Jackson; script: Edwin Schonfeld; Narration: Studs Terkel; Singer: Win Stracke; Drums: James Williams; Music: Louis Applebaum; Instructor and Editor: Boris Yakovleff. Black and white with sound (music and narration), ca. 15 minutes. Film content is scenes of candid shots of Chicago people, transportation, buildings, and streets during early morning normal routine. Scenes are cued to either the narration, which is possibly an original prose poem in the style of Carl Sandburg's "Hog Butcher for the World," or cued to music, including an unidentified drum solo and a folk song about Illinois.
