Biographical Note
One of the earliest joint Illinois Institute of Technology military efforts was the formation of the Navy V-5 and V-12 programs at the beginning of World War II. IIT's unit was one of the first units formed in the country. These programs later grew into the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC).
