Biographical / Historical

Maximillian Zink (1903- 1992) received an Associate in Arts degree in 1923 and a B. S. in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering from the Lewis Institute in 1925. As a student, he was a member of the Daedalians (fraternity), Inter-Fraternity Council, and Student’s Council. He also served as the Art Editor of the student yearbook, the Lewis Annual in 1925 and 1926; his hand-drawn cartoons appear in those yearbooks. After graduating, Zink remained active in the alumni community, contributing an article to The Technometer in 1949, and participating in the Daedalian Alumni Association. Zink had no direct descendants, and the majority of his estate was donated to IIT upon his death in 1992.
