Biographical Note

Grote Reber, the creator of the first radio telescope, graduated from Armour Institute of Technology in 1933 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Reber was given an Illinois Institute of Technology Distinguished Service Award in 1949, and was inducted into the IIT Hall of Fame in 1983. He was named a Person of the Millennium in the IIT student project of 2000.
