SCANFAX
The collection includes two issues of SCANFAX. The September 2004 issue covers the March 2004 meeting of Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers, Chicago Section. It includes the text of the introduction to the reenactment of the March 21, 1894 meeting held at Armour Institute of Technology, which served as the program for the 2004 meeting. The 2006-07 Chicago Section Year in Review includes a report from the History Committee, written by George Thomas, which provides information on the role of Chicago and the Illinois Institute of Technology in furthering the electrical engineering field in the mid-20th century (pp.21-29).

Biographical Note
SCANFAX is published nine times a year by the Chicago Section Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers. George M. Thomas, (BS '70 and MS '71, EE) is a member of Illinois Institute of Technology President's Council and arranged to have the March 2004 meeting of the Chicago Chapter of IEEE held on the campus of IIT in celebration of the inaugural meeting which was held at Armour Institute of Technology's March 21, 1894. A reenactment of the original 1894 meeting was presented as the program for the 2004 Fellow Awards meeting.
