Office of the General Counsel records, 1945-1989
Documents from IIT's Office of the General Counsel, documenting two cases of long-term legal concern to IIT: 1) sex discrimination charges filed by former IIT psychology professor Helen Cohen regarding her failure to obtain tenure in 1971 and her subsequent placement in "terminal" status (1971-ca. 1985; four files); and 2) a file documenting IIT's contractual arrangements with the Institute for Gas Technology (1948-1988). Also present is a copy of the IIT president's report from 1972-73 and a copy of a ca. 1991 IIT promotional booklet titled "Converging Visions: the Making of A University."
