Description of the Collection
Three printed copies/sheets of the alphabet in capital letters, followed by punctuation marks and the numbers 0 through 9; all done in a Copper Plate Typeface that was customized by John R. Bowman. Bowman developed this typeface in the early 1960s for use in the Federal Center, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, in downtown Chicago. The font subsequently became the one used by Mies' architectural office.
