Biography

The Mies van der Rohe Society was launched Nov. 19, 2002 by Illinois Institute of Technology and dedicated to the renewal and preservation of Illinois Tech's historic campus. The Society is designed to raise funds for the renovation of the university's Mies-designed academic buildings beginning with S.R. Crown Hall, Wishnick Hall, and Carr Chapel. Justine Jentes served as the Society's founding director until June 2013.

Description of the Collection

Presentation-style book apparently prepared and published by the Mies van der Rohe Society of IIT under the title "Robert F. Carr Memorial Chapel of St. Savior, IIT," for presentation to donors supportive of the chapel's restoration. Contains ten pages of color photographs of the chapel's interior a brief history of the chapel. The final page reads "Thank you from the Mies van der Rohe Society and the IIT Community."
