Materials related to a tribute dinner hosted by Illinois Institute of Technology on Oct. 5, 2000 to celebrate Henry R. Linden and to announce the Henry R. Linden Endowed Chair in Chemical and Environmental Engineering in recognition of Linden's work in industrial ecology and design and sustainable global energy, particularly in the promotion of development of natural gas as an energy source. Materials in the collection include: One folder with three documents -- one-page professional biography of Linden; draft of the event invitation; four-page guest list. Biographical Note

Henry Linden was a faculty member in the Chemical and Environmental Engineering, having joined the IIT faculty in 1954. He has been associated with the Institute of Gas Technology, the Gas Research Institute, and Gas Developments Corp. Linden served as IIT interim president from July 1989 - June 1990. The Henry R. Linden Endowed Chair in Chemical and Environmental Engineering was the first endowed chair created under the IIT Challenge Grant. Funding was provided in part by AES Corp., Kenneth and Linda Lay, and Unicom.
