Two black and white professional portrait photographs of students at the Lewis Institute taken by George H Partridge of Chicago. One shows eleven male students, including Walter and Ralph Strong, with a faculty advisor. The other shows six Beta Theta Pho members with winner banner for the Inter-Fraternity Half Mile Relay Race.

Biographical Note

Walter Ansel Strong, the donor’s grandfather, attended Lewis Institute before graduating from Beloit College in 1905. Strong became the publisher and later owner from 1926 to 1931 of The Chicago Daily News. He died in 1931. Walter’s brother, Ralph, also attended Lewis Institute.
