Description of the Collection

The bulk of the collection consisits of materials, many mimeographic and photostatic copies, related to the founding of Armour Institute and IIT.

Scope and Contents

This collection cosists of three attendance charts with graphs illustrating 1) Yearly attendance totals 1897-1940 with "Normal" and "Rehabilitation Work Done for U.S. Government" for years 1919-1927, (2) Attendance by year 1897-1940 for day and evening students, and (3) Evening School attendance by terms for years 1918- 1937 (shows men and women totals for selected years 1918-1922 and Day School attendance by quarters, 1918-1937).

Description of the Collection

Two black and white professional portrait photographs of students at the Lewis Institute taken by George H Partridge of Chicago. One shows eleven male students, including Walter and Ralph Strong, with a faculty advisor. The other shows six Beta Theta Pho members with winner banner for the Inter-Fraternity Half Mile Relay Race.

This collection includes drawings, plans, blueprints, and other materials stored in the East Map Case. These materials are not all from the same source, nor are they a coherent collection by any factor other than that they are all stored together. Faculty Appointment Letters 1965 - 74 "Emulsion No. 788258 64; Use Before Aug. 1980"; number stamped on cassette - 89100. One copy on microfilm cassette; duplicate on spool.
