Biographical / Historical
E3: Education and Experience in Engineering was an IIT undergraduate program established in 1972 as part of the BS in Engineering, and was partially funded by a National Science Foundation grant. The program was based around collaborative projects between students of all levels and faculty from various disciplines and aimed to develop engineers who were “socially and culturally conscious, competent in a wide range of engineering disciplines, and capable of using their knowledge and training to anticipate future technological problems.”
