Biographical Note
Armour Scientific Academy was a division of Armour Institute of Technology which served as a preparatory school or high school for the Insitute. It operated from the time Armour Institute opened in 1893 until 1910. Students who entered the Scientific Academy often continued on to enroll in Armour Insitute when they graduated.
The Armour Institute of Technology and Armour Scientific Academy were both part of a south side complex of educational and social mission buildings funded by the Armour Family, which also included the Armour Mission and Armour Flats.
