Lohan Master Plan records, 1993
Office files of the project known as the Lohan Master Plan, being the program initiated by Illinois Institute of Technology ca. 1993 to re-develop the physical campus. Collection includes working files and documents related to the National Commission on IIT, Mesirow/Stein request for proposal, the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation International Design Competition, the new Chicago Police Headquarters building located in Bronzeville, campus landscaping,... and minor amounts of material on the McCormick Tribune Campus Center Exelon tube costs, historical marker program, signage, and State Street Village, and proposed faculty housing.

Biographical Note
In 1996, Illinois Institute of Technology retained Lohan Associates to address current and future university departmental requirements. The university had recently reorganized the administrative and academic structure and desired to relocate and consolidate departments to meet future needs or the main campus. As a result of the Lohan study, a major redesign of the IIT main campus at 33rd and State Streets on Chicago's South Side was undertaken. Over the next several years, university activities included physical relocation of multiple campus offices and departments with associated re-design of spaces in various campus buildings, construction of two new buildings (McCormick Tribune Campus Center and State Street Village dorms), renovation of five Mies van der Rohe buildings, and extensive landscaping along State St. and to substantial portions of the campus.
