Abstract

Various dances were hosted throughout the school year by the Armour Institute of Technology classes. The Freshman Prom was initiated in 1912 by the Class of 1915. A history of the class is included in 1915 edition of The Cycle (school yearbook), pages 51-52. The 1913 edition contains a recap of their Freshman year activities including the dance (page 79), a photo of the dance booklet appears on page 162.

Description of the Collection The papers in this collection cover James W. Vice's years as Dean of Students at Illinois Institute of Technology from 1975-1988. The correspondence reflects his various areas of responsibility, including student discipline, counseling, campus residential life, and student organizations. Also present are copies of letters of recommendation written by Vice in support of students he knew well.
