This collection includes print copies of IIT Magazine/Illinois Tech Magazine as well as pdf files for most issues 2006-present. From 2019 onward, summer issues were web-based, with no print or pdf versions generated, so those issues are not represented here, and can be accessed at https://magazine.iit.edu/issues. Issues are identified via season and year of issuance.

Scope and Contents Academic and professional papers of John D. Root in his capacity as a history professor and chair of the Humanities department at Illinois Institute of Technology. Root received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1962 and his M.A. from Indiana University in 1964. From 1966 to 1968 he served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam, attaining the rank of Captain and receiving two Bronze Stars. 127 boxes of photographs of Illinois Institute of Technology campus, events, and people. Most photos are presumed to be taken by Communication and Marketing Office for various campus publications. Subjects and photographers are sometimes identified. The photos are in various formats: prints, negatives, and contact sheets, and some slides and transparencies. Most images are in black and white and most date from 1980 and before.
