Materials related to the 1999 and 2000 reunions of Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute (IITRI) staff. Consists primarily of photos (prints and proof sheets) of reunion attendees (most are identified); of particular interest are Len Reiffel, Walter McCrone, Irv Fieldhouse. Lists of IITRI employees are included.

Sengstock, Jr. for the Armour Research Foundation newsletter concerning jazz clubs, theaters, and historic buildings on the south side of Chicago in the 1940s and 1950s. Description of the Collection The collection contains material related to IIT Research Institute, including manuscripts collected and generated by Dr. Crispin Hales from his time of employment as a materials engineer at the IIT Research Institute. The collection also includes two reels of 8mm motion picture film: 1) “Phase IV high-pressure, high-temperature erosion-corrosion reactor, September 1978;” 2) “Refractory Test System for testing refractory bricks under simulated slagging coal gasifier conditions, 1979."...

Description of the Collection Oral interviews of Prof. Irwin Fieldhouse, the first employee of Armour Research Foundation. Primarily his reminiscences of people and projects connected to ARF and IITRI. Interviews were conducted on 12/8/1997, 4/21/1998, and 5/27/1988. Each tape is ca. 60 minutes long. Various black and white images (prints, negatives, contact sheets) of Marvin Camras, some with wire and tape recorders; some head shots. One shows him in a posed laboratory setting wearing an Armour Research Foundation lab coat. One color slide with TV set. One with Marvin (and Isabella Camras?) holding "Magnetic Society Information Storage Award." (NOTE that additional photos of Camras will be found in other collections. Description of the Collection 109 spools of magnetic wire recordings, presumed to be test samples for experiments conducted by Marvin Camras while developing wire recording technology at Armour Research Foundation.
