Description of the Collection The collection includes photocopies of "Centennial Preview" articles related to IIT's history, and a pamphlet with highlights of events held for the celebration. "Converging Visions: The Making of a University," a publication outlining the history of IIT. The collection also includes a 1991 Directory of Overseers, a 1990 program for Centennial Convocation and Inauguration, and a flyer for "The IIT 100" model vehicle race. Description of the Collection

Materials related to the Illinois Institute of Technology's 75th anniversary celebration in 1967-1968. Folder 1 contains materials related to alumni events, a schedule and reservation form for "Alumni Luncheon Series," and invitation to the All-Alumni Reunion. Folder 2 contains program and some additional information on 75th Anniversary Convocation May 1st, 1968

Abstract The IIT Centennial celebration was held from May 1990 - May 1991 with a series of events and activities, and according to the item catalogued here, the establishment of the IIT Archives. The date actually commemorated is the reported date of the "Million Dollar Sermon" which led to the creation of Armour Institute in 1890, and does not, in fact, represent the centennial date of Illinois Institute of Technology as it was formed in 1940 by the merger of Armour Institute and Lewis Institute,...

One fabric banner, 31 x 98" long; blue with white lettering reading "Illinois Institute of Technology" and "IIT AT 100". Also, one lapel pin, red enamel on silver; reads "IIT at 100." Artifact.

Scope and Contents Records of Elizabeth A. Kaye, Director of Alumni Relations and then Director of the Centennial at the Illinois Institute of Technology from 1984 to 1991. Kay served at time of important transition at Illinois Tech, serving under three presidents (Martin, Feldberg and Collens). She was involved in the Campaign for IIT, which sought to strengthen the university's finances.
