Abstract

The film commemorates the National Center for Food Safety and Technology's 20th anniversary in 2008. The National Center for Food Safety and Technology's mission is to safeguard the national food supply through methods that were transforming the food industry. Host Bill Curtis explains, "These days, hardly a week goes by without a major news story concernign food safety or nutrition." NCFST contributed to advancements such as microwavable soup, ultra pasteurized milk and canned vegetables sterilized in minutes thorugh high pressure processing.
