The papers appear to be those of James J. Brophy in his role as Academic Vice President of Illinois Institute of Technology from Feb. 1967-1975, and of Sidney Guralnick in his role of the university's provost from 1975-1982. This is a drop file-type collection of materials from various sources arranged alphabetically. s with 1970s materials. The names James J. Brophy and Sidney Guralnick appear most often. Note that the following materials predate Brophy's appointment as Academic VP and appear to have been inserted into the collection, and therefore are not be original to it. ̢"u201a¢ Three folders titled "Camp Armour," "FPSE" and "Food Technology" date from the 1940s and 1960s and appear not to be of the same origin as those above. ̢"u201a¢ Three folders (Armour Institute of Technology, and two on the Armour Family) have significant historical material. Topics include: "student rowdyism;" American School of Correspondence; international students; Thomas C. Roney; H. M. Raymond (AIT president); World's Columbian Exposition Sunday closings. Family materials include correspondence of J. Ogden Armour and Philip D. Armour. Also concerns Armour Institute, Armour & Company, and one issue of "Armour [& Company] Magazine" (1927) concerning death of J. Ogden Armour.
