James Prestini collection, 1950-2004
1 steel sculpture, custom made wooden pedestal and accompanying manuscript and print materials. The manuscript and print materials were evidently collected by Bonnie Blake-Drucker, a fine art photographer (including some items mailed directly to her by Prestini). Present are three photocopies of press coverage of Prestini, 1991-1993 (including his obituary); an envelope postmarked January 13, 1992, mailed by Prestini to Blake-Drucker (containing notices of various exhibits featuring his work in 1991); and three publications featuring Prestini’s work (Everyday Art Quarterly, no. 14, Summer 1950; exhibit catalog for “James Prestini: Sculpture from Structure Steel Elements,” San Francisco Museum of Art, 1969; and exhibit catalog for “James Prestini Steel Constructions,” Wright Gallery, Chicago, 2004).
