Computation Center collection, 1964
This collection contains materials produced by the Computation Center (also known as the Computer Center) at Illinois Institute of Technology.
The collection includes the IIT User's Manual, a book produced by, and for use in, the Computation Center at IIT. Authored or edited by Peter Lykos, Acting Director of the Center, ca. 1964. Tabbed sections in the book include: Purpose, Facilities, Procedures and Operations, Programming Systems (no pages in this section), Library Programs, Professional Services (no pages in this section), and Appendices. Included in the appendices are IBM publications regarding the IBM computer 1620 Central Processing Unit, Model 1, Fortran II specifications, IBM 1620/1710 Symbolic Programming System, and "IBM 1620 FORGO Specifications for Closed-Shop Users" written by Howard N. Schmeising of the Computation Center.
Added to this collection June 24, 2013 from unknown source: Two printed samples of keypunch cards apparently given as certificates to people who attended training sessions, a lecture and laboratory course of instruction, Introduction to Computers, and a three day High School Teachers Computer Workshop.
