Marvin Camras film, 1940-1963
One reel of film apparently connected with Marvin Camras. Tag found with it reads: N/T Rock S4 Z4816 Film 35 MM 1 Reel Hold for M. Cameras" (sic) [Camras ?]. Back of tag reads: Armour Research Foundation of Illinois Institute of Technology. On rusted 10" reel; poor condition - film was warped and damaged (spotted) with no image visible and vinegar syndrome (as of Sept. 2004). At the request of Pres. Lew Collens, this item was sent to Vidipax (New York, NY) for conservation assessment and transfer to newer medium if possible. A clip of the film was made available to Prof. Ken Stagliano (BCPS department) for testing to determine if the film base might be nitrate; no test was completed, but he responded that he did not think it was nitrate. C. Bruck, 9/23/04 Feb. 7, 2005 Film was returned by Vidipax. They were unable to recover anything from the film. They found no image on it and speculated that it was never processed. Vidipax cleaned and flattened the film and put it on a core in a new canister. Their reference number: 4769. Sent to Vidipax
