Color photos of commencement exercises taken by Chappell Studios. Generally includes 2 x 2¾" (62 mm) proofs of graduates receiving their diplomas with name identified on back of image. Also, images of speakers, stage, guests, processions, etc. Negatives (35mm) and selected 5 x 7" prints are included for some dates.

Materials related to John T. Rettaliata during his tenure as the second president of Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago), 1948 - 1973. Includes a large number of press clippings, and information for several events including the the 75th convocation and alumni events, and one folder of correspondence.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: This collection contains records produced by or about the administration, students, faculty, and alumni of the Lewis Institute. The bulk of the material is from 1890-1940, roughly the years of the school’s existence. These records were found in collection and did not have a cohesive original order; the collection also contains some additions from later accessions.
