Owen identified five series divisions: Special Publications, Historical items, documents and communications; Printed ephemera and publications about ID; Printed publications by and about ID; Printed flyers. The divisions are based in part on content and in part on envelopes, case, and wallets into which he sorted them. The divisions are not represented in the physical arrangement of the collection. All materials were removed (in order) to archival folders by Catherine Bruck.
