Papers of Alain Findeli, Professor of Industrial Design at the University of Montreal (retired 2007), consisting of research files and correspondence amassed in support of his doctoral dissertation, "Du Bauhaus a Chicago: Les Annees d'enseignement de Laszlo Moholy-Nagy" ("From Bauhaus to Chicago: Laszlo Moholy-Nagy's Teaching Years") (1989, University of Paris). Comments by Hattula Moholy-Nagy in 2007 regarding these recordings describes them as being "of considerable importance and interest to scholars of the Institute of Design and Moholy's cinematic works. Numbers 1, 2, and 4 were used in teaching. Moholy's integration of 'new' literature into the ID curriculum is set forth in Vision in Motion, pp. 292-357. Three paragraph letter dated Dec. 15, 1944 from Laszlo Moholy-Nagy to Frederick J. Kiesler expressing regrets that he (Kiesler) "Cannot come now" and inviting him to come in May. Context of the invitation is unknown. NOTE: Per an inquiry in July 2004 from Harald Krejci of the Kiesler Foundation in Vienna, Kiesler was invited for a lecture on his theory "biotechniques and correalism" in the 1930s or 1940s. The letter probably refers to that lecture invitation.
