Anita Anderson papers, 1902-1987
Bulks with office files of the Metropolitan Chicago Science and Technology Librarians, previously called Science and Technology Group, of which Anita Anderson was a member. Concerns invitations and memos regarding meetings held at the various members' libraries, including one hosted by IIT at the Crerar Library (1986). Two promotional pieces (artwork "slicks" for ads, 11x14" each) featuring Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and the architecture program. Used in Chicago Tribune ad series, run Jan. - Feb. 1991. (Note: photocopies of the newsprint ads were found Dec. 2003. They are filed with the originals slicks for reference. Two additional ads, one featuring Marvin Camras and magnetic recording, the other featuring the Illinois Institute of Technology wind tunnel, were also photocopied and are filed here.) Additional items in this collection include Metropolitan Chicago Science and Technology Librarians promotional pieces, white on black schematic of Crerar/Kemper Library upper level floor plan, blank "program card" (student's class schedule) from AIT, framed 8x8½" monochrome reproduction of 1920 portrait of Frank W. Anita Anderson served initially as a librarian of the Crerar Library when it was located on the campus of Illinois Institute of Technology (relocated there in 1962). Anderson subsequently served as a librarian at Kemper Library (the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, university library), ca. 1985-1993, and later as the Head Librarian of Graham Resource Center, IIT's architecture library, from 1993 until 2004.
