Three ring-binder with handwritten class notes from lectures and outside readings for what appears to be three different courses: Physics 512 (Spring 1948), Diatomic Molecules (Fall 1948), Atomic Structure (Spring 1948). Also typescript titled "Calculations of the Spectroscopic and Physical Constants of NO [nitric oxide] and also the Thermodynamic Properties." Binder is gray fabric covered with IIT logo of the 1940s stamped in red.

Later, typed copy of "First Twenty Years of Lewis Institute, 1896 to 1916" by George N. Carman, the First Director of the school. The 34 page text describes the Institute’s founding and other noteworthy events in the school’s history as well as Carman's educational philosophy.
Frank W. Gunsaulus papers, 1895-1920
The collection includes manuscripts, publications, and letters of Frank Gunsaulus, mostly related to personal life and not Armour Institute. Manuscripts and publications include his own poems, some signed, including the poem he composed for Eugene Field's funeral. Letters are to F.W. Jay and include a recommendation to the Surgeon General for position of army surgeon.
